Hotel Marketing Company

The Little known Hotel Marketer

Born in a little known island of Vanua Levu, Fiji, I began my career in the travel industry picking coconuts for tourists for 10 cents which was a whole heap of money to me at the age of seven. Little did I know that this would lead to bigger and better things in the Hospitality game. The Hotel Marketing Company was born from 10 cents a coconut.  Since those days, I have worked for a variety of Hotels, Backpackers whilst travelling and online Search Engine Optimization and online marketing companies.

My writing career began at the tender age of 12 years old, when i wrote a glowing poem about a girl I liked needless to say i’m a horrible speller (she didn’t like the poem). Over the years my spelling didn’t really improve, and my writing career as a budding poet came to a halt, but it wasn’t until I was Hotel, a mere shift- Manager through university (a part time job) at the little known Cargills  Hotel that I began to consider hospitality seriously. I should have started than however my studies and other things took center stage.

In 2002 I began exploring the world of online marketing.  Within taking my first hotel client for my company, I realized the missed potential in online marketing by hotels . Under my direction, the hotel grew it’s online revenue from 500 bucks a month to 52,000 a month within 3 months. This eye opening experience lead to introductions to other hotels and utilizing the latest marketing techniques, we managed to achieve remarkable growth within the group. Since than, I have left I have moved on to more of a consultancy role helping hotels achieve growth through the digital space, either Social Media, SEM or SEO.

Social Media Strategy

Understanding Social Media Strategy is something that a lot of companies struggle with. I decided it was time to go past the bull and post something actually helps people. The hardest part i find is breaking it down into scopes for people to do that is not only manageable but time saving.

I really hope this helps

Apple Watch

Is Apple bringing out a new Bluetooth watch?

So I haven’t been overly blogging recently due to the loss of my bog, www.prameshkumar.com. we have moved on since than and looking forward to 2013 with a nicer blog with more useful content for hotel marketers and marketers in general.

This from one of my favorite blogs TNW:

Two sources from the ‘supply chain’ told Chinese tech blog TGbus.com(relayed by the usually reliable Netease / Tech.163) that Apple and Intel are jointly building a Bluetooth-equipped smart wristwatch that can connect to other iOS devices, most notably iPhone and iPod devices.

According to the same sources, the Apple smartwatch could find its way to the market in the first half of 2013 and sport a 1.5-inch OLED display with indium tin oxide, aka ITO-coated glass, made by Taiwanese PMOLEDpanel manufacturer RiTdisplay.

Whether this rumor pans out or not, the potential for an Apple-branded Bluetooth smartwatch has always been blindingly obvious. It would be the ultimate affordable iPhone accessory for many, and if anything thesuccess of Pebble‘s Kickstarter campaign – over $10 million raised from nearly 70,000 backers – proves there’s demand for such a product.

Think about it: a small computer – or a custom version of the iPod Nano if you will – that you can wear on your wrist, connects to your iPhone like theNike+ Fuelband and plenty of other products can, and supports Siri voice control. It would make sense.

Apple has notably rolled out Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology across its product lines, e.g. releasing four new MacBook Pro laptops, the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad and iPad mini as ‘Bluetooth Smart Ready’ devices.

This matters, because Bluetooth 4.0 wireless radio technology comes with Bluetooth low energy (BLE), which is chiefly aimed at low-power and low-latency applications for wireless devices within a short range.

As for the link with Intel: Apple transitioned from using PowerPC processors in its Macs to Intel chips in 2005-2006, although the company is reportedly exploring ways to replace them again, this time with a version of the chip technology it uses in the iPhone and iPad – or with rival ARM’s chipsets. This hasn’t been confirmed, though.

Also: earlier this month, word got out that Intel is working on new manufacturing technology that it said keeps it on track to launch a new generation of ‘mobile’ chips for smartphones and tablets as it rushes to catch up with the likes of Qualcomm.

For now, let’s take the Intel-Apple smart watch talk for what it is: just another rumor. But definitely one that has legs.

Perhaps our in-house Apple expert Matthew ‘Panzer’ Panzarino will share his thoughts on the potential of an Apple-branded Bluetooth wristwatch hitting the market in the first half of 2013 as soon as he gets back at his desk. Either way, we’ll be watching closely. Yes, another intended pun.

New iPhone 5

What will the new iPhone look like?

I found this nice article by http://mashable.com regarding what the new iPhone 5 might look like. Basically the iPhone 5 might be coming out this year, we expect an announcement in June at the Apple Word Wide Developer Conference.

This from Mashable

Based on some of the latest rumors regarding the phone and what we can expect, one artist, Jon Fawcett, created some concept pictures of what he thinks Apple’s newest iPhone will look like when it hits store shelves.Jon made this new iPhone 5 concept

Rumor has it that the next version of the iPhone will be made of Liquid Metal. A mix of several different metals, LiquidMetal could allow the phone to be more durable. Light like plastic but durable like aluminum, it would also allow the phone to weigh less and have a thinner profile.

Video Marketing Can Make a Differnce

Video Marketing

Most companies are making one of the most crucial mistakes in their marketing and that is not including videos. The other way to look at is creating a video but with simply no appeal or thought pattern behind it. A video has to be well thought out than it has to be marketed. Simply putting it in YouTube won’t do the trick.Video Marketing

Keyword Targeting

First stage once again comes down to keywords. What keywords are you targeting.  Getting ranked for keywords in Youtube, Google, Bing = traffic. Traffic =sales. The traditional ways of waiting for them to knock on your door is gone. People are more resourceful hence they research

Tie Your Video into Something

Tie your videos to real-world trigger events, such as the wedding show or something on Tv. If you need help thinking of trigger events, look to Google trends to see when appropriate key words get searched. If people naturally search for a certain topic at a certain time of year, that’s a trigger. Use it launch your product.
